My laptop computer system requirements exceed the minimum requirements for WMM but when I try to capture video from my DV camcorder through a firewire 1394 - card connection it comes in very choppy, sometimes one or two frames in a 15 second capture. I noticed that my available RAM is only 61MB out of a total 256MB. Could this be the problem? I have a 1.1Ghz processor, so I don't think that's the problem.

Hi Mark,

The free space, condition (defrag status) and speed of the hard drive is
most important during capture..... and laptop hard drives are typically
slower than desktops. I suggest you look there first.

Try the WinDV utility... there's a link on the Camcorders > Introduction
page of www.papajohn.org - it has a pretty good buffer to help with captures
and exports.
