Looked up NTI, doesn't appear this software will create DVD's that will play
in a conventional DVD player hooked up to a TV. But, it will make VCD's or
SVCD's (which are MPEG1 quality) that will play in a player and, it will make
"data" DVD's.
For example, if you have an MPEG2 file and you burn that file onto a DVD
with your NTI, all you're doing is making a "data" DVD. In order for a
conventional player to play a movie, you have to run the MPEG2 file through
DVD editing software that will create VOB IFO BUP etc. files that will tell
the player what it needs to know to play the movie.
Bottom line, if you want to create DVD's that will play in a conventional
player hooked up to your TV, you will require additional software. If you
only want to create VCD's or SVCD's that will play in your player, then your
NTI will work.
Your ATI card should have come with DVD editing software that recognizes
..MP2. ULEAD Video Studio will recognize it. (Curious that I can rename my
..MP2's to .MPG?)
