Thanks for the answer to my last question guys. I can sucessfully capture sound and video with my DV camera via firewire. The problem I am now faced with involves the transfer of older movies that were recoreded on my sony video 8 recoreder. I plug the "video" cable from my computer capture device to my video 8. I then connect one end of a "y adapter" to my sound card and the the other to the audio output on the camera. I then start up the Windows Movie Maker software and choose my audio setting. When I am creating the video with Windows Movie Maker I can see and hear my movie in the preview window. When I attempt to playback the newly created files I can see the video but cannot hear the audio. Can anyone help? The old tape is alreading starting to fall apart and I need to convert it ASAP.

Thanks in advance

Steve
