Hi,
I'm searching for a free screen capturing tool to record screen
activities. Something like Camtasia
(http://www.techsmith.com/products/st...our/record.asp)

Any hints on this?
Thanks
Daniel

CamStudio is really good. IMO it's the best freeware program in
that field. I own Camtasia Stdio and still end up using
CamStudio for the small quick jobs.

CamStudio was bought up by eHelp http://www.ehelp.com who makes
RoboDemo which is a lot like Camtasia Studio. I tried RoboDemo
and like Camtasia Studio better.

Anyway since eHelp bought CamStudio they changed some things
about it. I don't remember right off what they changed but I
know I liked the other version better. Here is a URL for the
version before it was bought out.

BULENT'S SCREEN RECORDER v1.5a

"Screen Recorder captures images of the desktop, a window or a user
specified region as an AVI file and BMP files. Or 'HandyCam' can be used
to capture screen.

Screen Recorder has a 'WatchIt' mode that if it is selected, program
automatically traces the selected source (desktop) and records only when
changes occur, otherwise pauses itself. Program also has a 'Manual
Record' function. User can specify the compression, size and speed of the
AVI created, specify 'hotkeys' for 'record' and 'stop' buttons.

Screen Recorder has a Photo Studio and a Movie Studio. By using Bulent's
Screen Recorder, you can create AVI from any picture files even if they
are different in size, resolution etc. You can resample AVIs by changing
speed or compression.

Options to record mouse pointer movements, to include annotation in your
video."
