i use microsoft streets and trips with gps locator on my laptop, and i would
like to be able to record the screen while im using the gps software, and
have the recording output saved as a .wmv with windows movie maker or
another program. i could use the video output on my laptop to plug into an
input on another computer and capture it that way, but im wondering if there
is a way to capture/record the video onto itself?
thanks,

If I'm right in thinking what you want to do, you can use windows media
encoder to capture the screen, so it will record what is playing. You may
need to turn accelration off to capture the video image playing.
