captured video quality

I captured the video with MM2 from my Sony camcorder with
firewire. Why are the clips grainy/fuzzy? How can I
improve the quality to match what I see on my TV when I
play from the camera? Is there another program that will
capture better quality video? I also have Roxio & MyDVD
programs that came with my PC & DVD burner.
