it was captured from camera using moviemaker..
now I did fix it but I do not understand all the interaction...

there was some tools options and the direct show config files... I
unchecked a few that showed up in a directory of the newest installed
software.... there was something called myspeed gee! that was suspect so
unchecked it and problem solved... it also fixed the speed of the source
file in media player also.... does that boxes in mm2 interact with what
filters media player uses also>?

this is all too weird... but... it is working now I just seek to now
understand how it all relates to each other...

here is where I found the lead... this still does not explain how it also
fixed the problem in media player or... does player and mm2 use the same
filters? note I DID NOT reimport the movie from the dv cam corder

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...eofilters.mspx

1.
In Windows Movie Maker, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then
click the Compatibility tab.

2.
In the list of video filters, do one of the following:

1.
To turn off a filter, clear the check box.

2.
To turn on a filter, select the check box.

To reset the default list of filters

1.
In Windows Movie Maker, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then
click the Compatibility tab.

2.
Click Restore All Defaults.

3.
When you restore the default settings, the list and settings for the
filters are reset to the last known good setting. This option lets you go
back to the default list if you make changes to the list that later cause
issues in Windows Movie Maker.
