I'm not sure on what to look for on my computer to see if I have the capability to capture video from my camcorder. I have a Digital 8 Sony DCR-TRV330 CamCorder. There is a connection spot on my Camcorder for a USB connection and there is a DV Input\Output connection. What do I need to look for on my computer to know if I will be able to capture video from my CamCorder to MM2?

Thanks

I have the DCR-TRV460. You need a FireWire IEEE 1394 port on your computer.
You need a 6 to 4 pin FireWire Cable, which did not come with your camera.
Plug them together, "DV Input\Output connection" to your PC. Run MM2,
Turn on your Camera, It should detect the camera or from "File" select
capture.

Check device manager for an ieee1394 bus host controller, if it's listed you
have a firewire port on the pc, you just need to find it. see this link for
pictures, pic one is a 6 pin which as Rich says should be the one you need.

If there isn't one listed, don't be tempted to use usb it's no good for
video, buy a OHCI compliant firewire pci card, they are cheap and most come
with a cable as well!!!!
