I have been successfully capturing video by opening MM and selecting the Dell
movie studio device as the preferred capture device. I had to remove the Dell
movie studio device which I now cannot reload and was wondering is the
capture card somehow linked to this as I can not capture video any more. If
possible I dont want to have to buy a new Video capture card and any help in
this matter is greatly appreciated. Running a dell Dimension 8300. Happy to
provide more info if needed.

Do you mean you physically removed the card or just removed the software?
If the software then either use system restore to go back to a point before
you un-installed it, or re-install using the cd which came with the pc.
