If anyone can shed light on the following error message issue, it would be
greatly appreciated.

I am running Vista 64 bit SP2 on an HP Pavilion notebook, and am having
repetitive error messages:

Failed extract of third-party root list from autoupdate cab...a required
certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the
current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file. CAPI2 error logging
shows endless numbers of event ID 11 and 30, among others, with this info:

<removed tag> - <removed tag>11<removed tag> 0 2 11 2 0x8000000000000003
<removed tag>1121<removed tag> Microsoft-Windows-CAPI2/Operational
NotebookVista64 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <removed tag> A required
certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the
current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file. <removed tag>

NotebookVista64 - - <removed tag> A required certificate is not within its

I did download and install authroot.stl but this did not solve the
problems. If you can help with this, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks. Peter

Thanks so much for reading my post and responding...I had been following that
thread, I just hate making registry tweaks...I have just created a current
disc image on my external drive, so may take the plunge and hope for the
best...I wonder if this problem might be more widespread than most realize,
since one only discovers it when taking a look at the applications log in
Event Viewer.
