I reciently transfered my cd writer from an older
computer using windows 98. I put it in this computer with
windows XP. I used to be able to write to the CD like it
was a floppy. Backing up files and saving pictures and
such. Since the switch I can not copy file to the cd the
same way. For instance I can not format the CD Rom and
the XP cdwriter program keeps giving me errors. But I can
create Audio cds without a problem. Any Ideas about what
to do in this situation.

Try formatting the CDRW disc again

What burning software have you installed?

The built in XP burner doesn't do drag & drop (UDF packet writing). You'll need a commercial CD mastering package.
