Can't watch sreaming videos on MSN or IE7

Whenever I try to watch a video from MSN Home page or IE7...it won't
play...it just sits there. A Just above the "Start" button I see "2 items
remaining". I have to go thru Firefox to watch videos (YouTube). I've done
all the uninstalling and re-installing. Nothing works.. My geek friend says
it's got to be IE7. Does anybody know how to fix this problem?
