My system is a Dell Dimension 8400 with WinXP. One particular website
has photographs on it that simply do not show up on either of my
browsers, FireFox and IE.

My browser changes it to:

The site's pics show up fine on my friends' computers, both Windows
and Mac. I myself have never had any problem viewing photos on any
sites before, that I'm aware of. The company that runs the site told
me that the problem is:

"because of a security feature you have active. We have not heard of
any one else having any issues with the pictures."

I'm not aware of any "security feature". Can someone suggest what
might be going on, and a solution, please?

There should be a problem with your security software. As the support team
has suggested your have to check the settings in the security software. Which
software are you using on the computer.

There should be a settings to allow the active X control or the cookies.
You need to enable those.

Is the forwarding a good thing or a bad thing, i.e., is it a factor in
my not being able to view the pics there?

And, can you see the photographs on that page?

AFAIK I see all the pictures. As for the forwarding, can't say whither it's
good or bad without seeing the code on the first page. It may be testing
for browser ID.

It's not a bad thing, it's the way that server is set to do things.
And it's not a factor in your not being able to see the pics. I don't
know why you can't see any images. I'd look through Settings|Options
and Tools|Internet Options (especially the Security and Advanced tabs,
I think) and see if something there might be blocking images. OTOH, if
you're seeing images elsewhere, then your setting are OK.

I can see images without any problem, as far as I'm aware. However,
the fact that I can't see images on that particular web site makes me
wonder if I'm missing pics elsewhere.

Perhaps the fact that this prob occurs whether I use FireFox or IE is
a clue. What settings on my computer would affect both browsers?

My FireFox settings indicate that cookies are allowed. How do I check
for the active X control?

Sygate Personal Firewall and McAfee anti-virus.
