can't use search eingine in IE

I have Windows XP and IE7. Whenever I do a search i get "Internet explorer
cannot display the webpage". I have tried several search engines. I also get
the same message when I type google.com in the address bar. All other sites I
can get. I have tried to run IE in the no add on's mode and have even tried
in Firefox, with the same results.

Instead of using DNS translation, try entering Google's IP address in
the browser Address: 209.85.171.100. If the page loads then the PC
is having DNS issues. This could be from a Hosts entry or maybe a
Malware infestation. For Malware detection & removal check out:
