I have 2 SATAs in caddies that I use for backups. Basic disks, not
dynamic. I call them #1 and #2. When I loaded Vista #1 could be
reactivated but not #2. Disk manager didn't show an error, it just
wouldn't reactivate the disk. So I disconnected the Vista disk and
loaded XP on a blank one. Both disks reactivated okay. Put Vista
back in and now #2 is okay and I can't reactivate #1.
Unless I have an unusual problem, Vista users have lost the ability to
use multiple removable disks as backups. Lots of people must do that
but I don't see any complaints here. Can anybody comment?
P.S. Pentium 4 on Intel board with 865 chipset.
