Hello all,
I have a Nortel VPN connection that connects fine. I can ping the machine
that I want to remote desktop to, but I get an error when trying to run
remote
desktop titled "Remote Desktop Disconnected" that reads: "The client could
not connect to the remote computer".
I used both the computer name and the IP address of the remote computer with
no success. I know that the DNS is being resolved correctly because I can
ping
the computer name and it returns the right IP and pings it. Not sure what to
do here in
troubleshooting why I can VPN in and ping the computer, but can't remote
desktop in...
Also, I can ping an Oracle server I need to connect to, but can't connect to
the server using SQL tools because they time out on connecting. I think the
problem is the same for both applications somehow.
I can VPN to a different company's system on the same laptop and can run
Remote Desktop and SQL+ just fine, so I don't know what to do now.
Thanks for your help,
Sean McElroy
