can't use new USB ports

We recently added a new USB card. Everytime we plug a
device into any of the new port the computer hangs. I
have installed the drivers and the download from
Microsoft "Service Pack 1a". I am at a loss what to do
now. I cannot use the old USB ports they have broken
pins. Any suggestions??

What make is the USB card? Does their web site have
drivers? Did the card come with XP drivers?

The maker of the USB card is Dynex. I just checked their website (dynexproducts.com) and there is nothing there to help me. It is XP compatable and I loaded the CD that came with the card. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Did you install the drivers from the CD BEFORE you installed
the card? You might try removing the card and removing it
with device manager. Then install the software followed by
the card. See if they have some instructions.
