I'm trying to setup instant messaging on Outlook 2002,
but when I check the box to enable it an msgbox comes up
which states MSN Messenger 3.5 or later is required. I'm
already running MSN Messenger 6.1. Any ideas?

Does it say windows messenger or msn messenger 3.5?

Outlook 2002 requires Windows messenger, not MSN.

The message says "MSN Messenger", and it offers to take
me to the MSN messenger upgrade page, not Windows
Messenger.

I have a nasty little problem with Windows Messenger and
wonder if that is the problem with Outlook. MSN
Messenger works fine, but Windows Messenger won't load.

The MSN messenger does not integrate its features with
Outlook 2K2 or 2K3. The one that works is Windows
Messenger 4.7.

Both should load - I'm often logged into both using different IM accounts...
