Can't upload discussion

Steve Easton answered an earlier query on this matter,
but my situation is different.

I'm on XP Pro with FrontPage 2002. I'm in a class that is
uploading nearly identical files to a server.

Everyone else can upload without problems; I get the
refusal from the server with the error message that the
server must update extentions.

If everyone else can upload, the problem must be
somewhere at my end.

I've tried everything I can think of. There are no
firewalls at the ISP or on my computer that are enabled
during the upload.

I'd apprciate some help.

Thanks.

Sound like you are using features of FP2002 that are not support on the
remote server which most likely has the FP2000 extensions.

Thanks, but other people in the class are also using
FP2002, and they are successful. Is there anything that
could be off in my computer that would cause the same
error?

It is not the issue of using FP2002, but what features/functions you have
selected/added to your pages that require the remote server to have the
FP2002 extensions, instead of the FP2000 extensions.

See the following for features that require the FP2002 extensions:

You just replied to my query regarding FP 2002 and my
inability to upload to the server. I appreciate it, but
most of the rest of the class is also using 2002 and they
are uploading without trouble.

I'm receiving a rejection message that says that the
server is responding with a message that can't be parsed,
and that I should check with the server administrator to
have the proper extensions installed.

But if they can upload identical files, and I can't --
doesn't that suggest something is wrong at my end?

Thanks

Now based on this new information, yes the problem can be with your local
connection and how it is configured, etc.

See:

Apparently, I'm not writing clearly. I apologize.

Other people in the class are uploading from the
discussion wizard to the identical server into identical
files. They, too, are using FP 2002.

So far as I know, I'm the only student having trouble.
They upload the discussion board, and mine gets rejected
with the message that the extensions aren't available.

The server people swear up and down that they have
installed the proper extensions for 2002.

Thanks.

1. Are you using the same ISP and connection type as the other users?

2. Do you have the same hardware and OS as the other users?

3. Do you have the same service packs installed as the other users for
Windows and Office applications?

4. Do you have the same version of IE installed as the other users?

All of the above, do have a impact on being able to connect/publish.
