My two computers cannot install the updates to .net framework and ms
silverlight, either when I try to run the update with windows update in ie7
or let the computer do the automatic updating. This has been going on for
quite a while now, every time I shut down the update badge is shown and
never goes away. Is there anything I can do?

Running xp sp3 32 bit.

These .NET updates have been plaguing Windows Users for quite some time
now, Paul. MS needs to be *made* aware that this is an intolerable
situation.

For ***no-charge support*** for getting the *Security* updates installed
for .NET Frameworks:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../MS09-061.mspx

" Support
• Customers in the U.S. and Canada can receive technical support from
Security Support http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=21131
or 1-866-PCSAFETY. There is no charge for support calls that are
associated with security updates. For more information about available
support options, see Microsoft Help and Support.
• International customers can receive support from their local Microsoft
subsidiaries. There is no charge for support that is associated with
security updates. For more information about how to contact Microsoft
for support issues, visit the International Support Web site.
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=21155 "

If you call in specifically mention that the **Security** update for the
..NET Framework can not be installed. If the person who answers the phone
states you will be charged for support, **insist** that you speak to a
Supervisor or the next higher Level of Support.

You'll be helping the entire community of Windows Users by reporting
another absurd .NET Framework updating fiasco to MS and yourself, by
receiving ***no-charge support*** for getting the darn thing installed.

Glad I'm not alone! But not a good thing. Thanks for the heads-up.
