Can't uninstall Norton Internet Security Package

      1st Sep 2004
Friend is running XP home. Downloaded Symantec Update--Aug 30. Can't access
the Internet. Just keeps dialing and dialing. Server says it isn't their
problem.
Tried to Uninstall through Add/Remove. (Server says not all files were
removed.)Still doing the same thing. I tried to get help from Symantec site
but instructions don't work even in first phase.
Any suggestions on how to rid the computer of this monster when she can't
access the Internet for online help from Symantec?

      1st Sep 2004
has the firewall settings changed and it now blocks
port 80? or has the phone number magically changed for dialup.

      1st Sep 2004
Phone number is the same. Just keeps dialing and acting as though it were
going to connect and then starts over. We're on the same server ( a local
one) and mine is functioning OK.
Unsure if firewall settings might have changed with the update from Norton.
How might we check that?
