Absolutely. 8-) Apparently the user has used some third-party "remedy" and
that's what is causing the problems. Since we don't know what that would
change, chasing a solution at this point isn't viable.

nope. I have upgraded my computer many times since the first time I
installed the game and all I do is install the game then the extra courses
and play. No (no CD patch here). My father in law also has the game and he
does it the same way. We like the game because if you use MSN Messenger 6.2
you can play the game through messenger but for some reason 7.0 will not
support it.

Yes it does the first time but after that IT DOES NOT! Well... never mind I
know what is correct... It works is all I know.

Anyway back to his problem, couldn't he use regedit to find everything
pointing to Links 2003 and delete them (I have done this to remove Norton
before) or would that be a bit dangerous for them to try? Just a thought.

Not to continue this argument, but you, sir, have altered something with
Links 2003, whether you know it or not. Here's a Microsoft Knowledge Base
article which is titled, "Games that require that the original product CD is
in the CD-ROM drive to play":
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;243258

Under the Applies to: section, please note that Links 2003 is listed.

End of thread.

Agree, the CD is not required after the first use.
