I have Win2k sp4. I recently bought a MS "Wireless Optical
Desktop Elite" -- i.e., wireless keyboard and mouse. When I
tried to install the software for it, it reported that there
was incompatible software already installed. It didn't
identify it, but I assumed it meant mouse software.
I then opened the add/remove programs applet, and saw that
there were two listings for Logitech mouseware. One entry
had a version number (which I failed to write down) and the
other one didn't.
I haven't used a Logitech mouse with that computer for a
while, so I didn't mind removing it. I successfully removed
the mouseware that showed the version number (and also
rebooted to complete the removal process), but the other one
can't be removed by normal means. I hit the button to remove
it, and nothing happens. And when I try to install the
software for the wireless keyboard/mouse combo, I still get
the message that incompatible software has to be removed
first.
Can anyone suggest how I can remove this mouseware that
won't go away?
Thanks.
