well i think this is a microsoft problem but...

any time i try to install/uninstall a program it starts
installshield which works fine then i get an error
message before it finishs:

Unhandled Exception

Error number: 0x80040706
Description: object referance not set

Setup wioll now terminate

Whats the installer that is running? I saw a few instances where
InstallShield would give those errors and you might need to check with them
for an update if that is the installer for the application.

I have this exact same problem. I have been unable to locate any information about it whatsoever in Microsoft's Knowledgebase

The only suggestion I was able to dig up was for a Win98 system. Basically, it instructed to delete the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Installshield folder and then install DCOM98

Unfortunately, that does W2K/XP users little good

Any additional information provided would be greatly appreciated!
