Hi. I cant change properties of cells in a worksheet. I want to
sum the values of cells but the sum returns as 0. Why is that? Thanks

The cells are probably text.

Format an empty cell as Number. Enter the number 1. Edit>Copy. Select the cells to be summed. Edit>Paste Special, check Multiply.
Now they are numbers and you can sum them.
