Disconnect the computer from the mains by pulling out the net cord on the
back of your pc, remove the on-board battery and leave it like that for a
couple minutes to be sure that no residual energy remains in the board. Then
insert a new battery in the holder. Do note that your BIOS settings will be
wiped and that you'll have to reconfigure your BIOS, so either write down
all the current settings, or have someone on standby that can reconfigure
your BIOS for you. Then your computer should be working fine again, unless
you have a hardware failure in your PC, which could be any and all parts
really...
