I've just installed an audigy2 nx (external) soundcard. it works perfectly, except that I can no longer shut down my pc. I can log off, but to shut down I now have to switch off at the mains. Not good. Never had the problem before

I've had the same problem with a USB printer on my old PC. It would continually
reboot if I left the printer on. Once I turned the printer off, the PC would
shut down fully. I think it might be a common problem. Try researching it.
