can't set a follow up date on email message

's Computer Specifications

I can set a follow up flag, but I don't get any option for setting a
reminder date. I think I should be able to right click the follow up
button on the ribbon and get an option to set a reminder, but all I
see is "clear flag".

Any ideas?

Right-click on the email message and choose "set reminder".

Thanks for the reply, I don't have that option on the right-click
menu...I don't understand why I don't...

Which version of Outlook? Im assuming you have Outlook 2007 which supports
that and since you refer to it. If you don't then the feature is not
supported. You'd need to drag the email to your Tasks Folder (use
right-click drag and drop for options) and link it to a Task with a
reminder.
