Things don't happen suddenly. Something has changed.
First, I would check with your ISP to see if they have changed their server
settings. Many ISPs are now using alternate ports for SMTP and POP3
settings. Check with their on-line help - most ISPs have a page to
configure the major mail clients.
Second, did you install/uninstall/remove anything from Outlook just
recently? What is the exact error message you get when you use the Test
Account Settings option from your Mail Account Properties?

After furious head scratching, Jama asked:
| I am not able to send or receive emails in Outlook 2007. I was able
| to do both with no problems, then it stopped sending emails but I
| could still receive. Now I can't do either. I'm working with
| Windows Vista and Bellsouth is my ISP. I haven't changed any of the
| settings, it just stopped.
