Can't Send/Receive at all

I have been using Outlook 2003 for over a year without problem, and now

when I open the application the automatic send/receive doesn't execute.

Also whenever I click the send/receive button nothing happens. And when

I go to Tools>Options>Mail Setup and click the send/receive button, no
config window launches like it should. Again nothing at all happens. I
have deleted the profile and recreated it, but to no avail. I have also

done a "Detect and Repair" under the Help menu which also didn't work.

Help please,
Kent

It sounds like you need to uninstall and then reinstall office. Before you
do that you should save your settings.

I was hoping to avoid a complete re-install if possible because of the whole
limited number of activations Microsoft has given with my Professional
Edition 2003 CD set. Isn't it possible to fix what's broke?

I don't think the number of installations is a problem. I have installed
and reinstalled my Office XP Pro numerous times on the same machine. The
key is that the machine hardware has been basically unchanged. Only once
did I have a problem and Microsoft had an 800 number and it was resolved in
5 minutes.

Ok thanks, I guess I'll give that a try. To keep all the data in my personal
files, all I need to do is copy the file C:\Documents and
Settings\Kent\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
correct?

That is probably correct, but make sure you go into your profile( control
panel/mail/profile) to see that it the file being used as your default.
