Can't send email to myself

When I type in my own email address and send a message, it appears to be sent
(is in the Sent Items folder), but I never receive it. However, if I go to
the Sent Items folder and FORWARD that same message to myself, I do get it.

I didn't install any antivirus software, and I've searched everywhere I know
for something in the "Tools" and "Accounts" menus for a possible solution.
Any ideas?

Some ISPs won't let you download a message you sent to yourself.
Gmail is one of those.

Strange. I used Windows Mail to send an email to myself using my Gmail
address and it did not come back but when I viewed my Gmails using the
web interface, there it was. So I sent myself one from the Gmail web
interface and it came through to Windows Mail!

Work that one out!!

Gary - That can't be it; I have Comcast and when I go directly to Comcast's
webmail and try the same from there , I can send and receive emails from
myself just fine. Therefore, it must be something with Windows Live, right?

Yes, Gmail has worked this way for years.

Sending from the web interface is entirely different from sending from
the email program, so it doesn't prove anything one way or the other.

To determine if the problem is due to your email program, you would
have to install a different email program, such as Thunderbird, and try
sending from there.
