hey everytime I try to send email, a box pops up that says "one or more
messages in your outbox do not have a valid account specified". How can I
correct this problem?

Do you have an account set as the default mail account at tools>accounts

Do you have Vista SP1 installed, if not get it.

Move any messages that will move from your Outbox, to the Drafts folder.

Try this Hotfix: (if you have SP1, don't bother, it is included in SP1).

Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista

Try using this utility to repair and compact the mail store, with WM closed

WMUtil http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/ read the instructions.

What email account are you trying to access?

Windows Mail can only access POP3 and IMAP accounts.
Hotmail/Live accounts can only be accessed via POP3 with Windows Mail.
And, you need to have a Plus account in order to access the POP server.

Open the Outbox folder and delete any messages you see there.
Try sending a new test message to yourself.
Do you still get an error message when you try to send? If so,
right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
