Hi,
Thanks for your posting. If I understand correctly, one Windows XP computer
cannot see other computers in the workgroup, while other computer can see
this computer.
I'd like to perfrom the following steps on the problematic computer to test
the problem:
Step 1: Turn On NetBIOS over TCP/IP
-----------------------------------
a. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click "Network and
Internet Connections".
b. Click Network Connections.
c. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties.
d. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
e. Click the General tab, and then click Advanced.
f. Click the WINS tab.
g. Under "NetBIOS setting", click "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP", and
then click OK two times.
h. Click Close to close the "Local Area Connection Properties" dialog
box.
i. Close the Network Connections window.
Step 2: Start the Computer Browser Service
------------------------------------------
a. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
b. In the console tree, expand "Services and Applications".
c. Click Services.
d. In the right details pane, verify that the Computer Browser service
is started, right-click Computer Browser, and then click Start.
e. Close the Computer Management window.
Please feel free to let me know if this resolves your problem.
Sincerely,
William Wang
