hi, i am on my friends computer and he cant change his background to
anything. he can only pick colors from properties. when we find a pic off the
internet and click set as background, it still doesn't change it. when he
restarts his computer, shuts down, etc. the background that we wanted pops up
for a second or 2 and then shut down. can anybody please help?

If the new background image shuts down his computer (if I understand you
correctly), he could be having a malware problem.
