From my wireless laptop, I am not able to access my main
cpu because it asks for a login name and password. the
login name and password that I created with the network
does not work. but from my main cpu that has the router
i am able to access my laptop just fine because it does
not ask for a login name and passord. My main cpu is
running windows pro xp and my laptop is running just the
xp. Can someone assist me?

this may help. quoted from http://www.ChicagoTech.net
Can't access another computer - "\\PC is not accessible. The network path
was not found"

Symptom: In our domain, I as administrator can't browse to my PC from the
server and I keep getting "\\PC is not accessible. The network path was not
found" even I have enables sharing on the PC and I can ping it

Resolution: You need to login once on the PC as the same logon ID,
administrator in this case, to establish the trust relationship between the
PC and the server.

Run the Network Setup Wizard on the main cpu, which will fully enable
file sharing. Tell the Wizard that the computer connects to the
Internet through a residential gateway (router).

If you've explicitly disabled simple file sharing on the main cpu,
create a user account with the same user name and password that you
use to log onto the laptop.
