That is the Star Menu items shown. If you have many items
listed on the right side of the Start Menu, it will give
you that warning you mentioned. You need to either reduce
the amout of items displayed or increase your desktop
resolution (make screen smaller but can show more).
To reduce the amount of shown items:
1) Open the Taskbar And Start Menu Properties dialog box.
You can find it in Control Panel (in the Appearance And
Themes category) or, more simply, by right-clicking an
unoccupied area of the taskbar and choosing Properties.
2) Select Start Menu tab
3) Select Customize
4) Select Advanced tab
5) Remove some of the options shown here. Some of them you
can remove the check mark if not needed or you can select
Do not show.
