Recently upgraded to XP and then the software for the Umax
scanner wouldn't work. we can scan images but cannot
manipulate or change anything. Thought it was a problem
with the scanner so we recently bought a HP 4570Cxi
2400DPI Digital Flatbed Scanner that is suppposed to be
compatible with XP but it won't let us make any changes or
use the software with the scanner. What do we need to do
to correct the problem? HP has no clue!

Try running your scanner as an administrator.
