Word cannot write to a CD-type device. Nor does XP have any services that
can be called upon to do so by an application program such as Word.

You must write the file to the hard drive then copy that file to a
CD-device, preferably using a 3rd-party product such as Nero.

To use a CD as a floppy disk there has to be 3rd party packet writing
software installed.
