I had the same problem and I converted my hard disk from FAT32 to NTFS.
Solved the problem for me!

Hi all I have kinda solved the prolem. I had to cut my movie into 5 pieces to
save to my comp and the saving still took hours. Then had to open them in
Shobiz to try and put them bach together so i could burn it to a DVD. I like
MM but wont use it again for large movies and that one was only 25min long.
thanks for the place to post and thank you PapaJohn your site was very useful.

Hello,

Its a fairly simple operation but can take a while depending on how
large the hard drive is.

1) Using your favourite program you make a complete backup of the drive
2) Using the FORMAT command you re-format the drive to the NTFS standard
3) Restore the previous backup

Check out the documentation for XP for more help
