Bought a new computer and I'm having strange problems. It's an HP
Media Center running Win XP.Some games that work perfectly on another
computer, also using Win XP will not run at all. The splash screen
will show briefly, and then the program will minimize. and cease
responding. The only similarity among the programs that I can see is
that they all run in low resolution. I've tried changing the screen
resolution which has no effect. Running the programs in compatibility
mode makes no difference. I installed a new graphics driver with no
improvement.

It's not too late to return this computer, but I have passwords and
banking info that I don't want to give away.

Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

Joan

If the computer is not working to your satisfaction, "Re brick" it with the
restore CD(s) and return it. (if it was supplied without the restore CD(s),
there may be a restore partition on the HD. Just make sure that you have
copies of any needed data before you do so.
