Setup: Outlook 2000 SP-3 on XP Pro

Problem: I have 2 pop3 mailboxes that I download to my
local machine a few times a day. This setup has worked
fine for months. There have been no changes to the setup
recently.

The problem I THINK occurs when my primary ISP
(ATTGLOBAL.NET) allows a message without a blank name or
description field. The download will get "stuck" at
message x of xx, and will cause a timeout error. I can
solve the problem by logging onto the ISP and deleting
any messages with blank name or description fields.
These are spam, and if you look at the complete header
they often have spoofed or illegal routing.

Is there a way to prevent Outlook from hanging on these
messages? I would like to just leave the PC running and
auto download e-mail, but it has become completely
unreliable. ATTGLOBAL has no filters that would discard
e-mails with blank fields, so I can't prevent its
attempted delivery.
