Can't restore before IDT screw up........HELP ME!!!!!

I have tried everything but i can't get to a restore point before IDT AUDIO
CODEC...... I need sound!!!! must have sound. please if anyone knows of
another way, cause I have also rolled back to the old driver and all i get is
an occasional beep(alert) every now and then. this is so wrong!!! My computer
is only a couple months old and I'm still learning. Please someone help.

Sound codec can be removed. Media Player, Tools, Options, Plug-ins tab,
Audio, remove button

I removed the item from device manager then went to my manufacturer's
website and downloaded the original Vista driver for my make/model and
installed it.
I then told Windows Update to not show me that IDT one again.

go into sound properties and make sure the correct IDT/HP speakers are
selected as your default output
