Hello, we have a problem with DNS.... We can't ping our
server names student1 and student2, however we can ping
them using their fqd names
student1.students.preston.ac.uk and
student1.students.preston.ac.uk and also their I.P.
addresses.

Therefore we cannot add new clients to the domain....

Anyone else had this problem

Check your Primary DNS Suffix using "ipconfig /all". For this to work it
should be "students.preston.ac.uk" or the suffix should be in a connection
specific suffix. hth
