I just changed hosts and after uploading my website to them my webpage
counter was reset back to one. I have tried several times to reset it to the
last number of hits from my previous host but I can't make it happen. What
am I doing wrong?

I double click on the counter from with FP2003 and when the "Hit Counter
Properties" window pops up I select the box for "Reset counter to" and then
enter the value. The counter doesn't change after I upload the altered page
to my website.

What am I doing wrong?

You have to open the remote Web site directly and make this change.

Publishing doesn't upload a new hit count. If it did, you'd reset your hit
count every time you published.
