Internet Explorer 6 is messed up. I have tried to
add/remove programs to repair it and to restore to a
previous version of Internet Explorer, but the
restore/repair doesn't work. How can I get rid of Internet
Explorer so I can reinstall it clean? I know it can be
done, because I had to do it before once. I found the
information online, but I don't remember where.

Try this you should be able to see it then if its hidden

one click start then run and type this
notepad.exe.c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf
remove the hide but leave the comma
