There are several programs in my startup that I can't remove. I can identify
them as malicious by the date they were created and the time my problems
started. When I hit the remove button, they just come back. Any help?

Click on this link. It's another microsoft message board. They will be able
to help. They will need more information to help, operating system and so
forth. Also a description of the problems you are having.

Hope this helps. They helped me.

It is probably coming back because there is a process running that detects
its removal and reinstates it. You will probably have to shut down the
offending process before you'll be able to completely remove it. I'm dealing
with the same issue now but think I've got it licked, and that's what I have
had to do. Mine is the obnoxious kind that keeps putting up a pop-up browser
trying to sell me the antispyware software that will remove the spyware they
planted on my computer. Oh well... I'm sure defender will eventually be able
to stop it but for now manual intervention is necessary.

Hi JD,
Start your system form Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key on bootup.

This will likely be able to clean it with a Defender scan before those
processes go live.

I'm having the same problem with a start up Trojan Horse. I'll try the safe
mode thing and let you know if it works.
thanks
