Can't Remove Mirror

Trying to deal with a problem at the moment with no luck, hoping
someone can help.

I have an IBM Eserver XSeries220 with 2 mirrored drives, 2K server
SP4. One of the drives has failed completely and I have a replacement
ready to go in.

There are 2 mirrored partitions (C: - OS, and E: - Data) I was able
to remove the mirror on drive C with no problems but when I try to
remove the mirror on E I get "The requested object is in active use,
operation not allowed"

The server will not boot with the dead drive in the machine.

Tried disabling antivirus, removing all shares, no applications
running, and killed every service I can think of with no luck.
Neither did safe mode.

Becoming more and more nervous running on one drive. Looking for any
suggestions to solve this problem.

Thank you,

Brian Green
