I have a Dell 4400 Dimension with Windows XP. The HP
3570c scanner worked just fine for 6 months, then just
quit. The error message said the computer lost it's
connection with the scanner. I checked all the cables and
everything looked fine, but that didn't help. I tried the
scanner on a different computer and it worked perfectly.
I tried reinstalling the scanner's software, now the error
message says the computer is unable to reinstall the
driver. Any suggestions?

Try going to Control Panel | System | Device Manager,
highligh the scanner, Properties, Reinstall Driver. May
work for you. Don't know how old scanner is. CD-Rom may
not support XP. Might try to let windows automatically
find driver as it might be newer (From XP Install cd)
than the one on the scanner CD. Also go to the HP.com
web site and look for a new XP Driver. Last if scanner
is connected by USB make sure that USB is enabled in your
motherboard CMOS setup still.
