can't recover my administrator password

I recently upgraded to XP from 2000. For some reason XP
never prompted me for a password and user id. After I
upgraded, my computer's name, not my user's name showed
up on the sign-in screen. I cant get an option to bring
back my user name so I can input my password. Help I
thought XP was user friendly.
