I am also having the same problem. Windows Mail fails to download
messages from the server. There are no error messages or timeouts.
It simply claims there are no new messages. I can send messages. The
account is setup properly in Windows Mail. I have removed Norton and
disabled Windows Firewall. Any suggestions?

Removing Norton often needs a separate cleanup.

Sometimes you even have to delete the email account under Windows Mail
and then create it again to finish the cleanup.
